EDUCATION

1983 – Bachelor of Commerce, University of British Columbia.

1984 – Bachelor of Laws Degree, University of British Columbia.

1985 – Called to the British Columbia Bar.

Irene is a senior member of the family law bar and has been providing family law advice to her clients since 1985 in all areas of family law. She has assisted many clients in reaching a negotiated or mediated settlement during her legal career and has a keen appreciation for the importance of working toward a negotiated or mediated settlement that protects her client’s interests. In the event that settlement cannot be reached, Irene is an experienced and effective litigator who has appeared in all levels of court in British Columbia.

Irene obtained her Commerce Degree and Law Degree from the University of British Columbia. Before founding the Pietrow Law Group in 2008, Irene was a partner and member of the management committee of a mid-sized firm in Greater Vancouver.

She has instructed various legal seminars over the years, for organizations including the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia, People’s Law School, and the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia.

Irene served as the Chair of the Family Law Subsection of the New Westminster Branch of the Canadian Bar Association and as an Executive Member at Large of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia.

Irene enjoys strategizing and helping her clients in all areas of family law, from the straightforward to the very difficult. She has extensive experience in both complex financial matters and those related to children, such as custody, guardianship and parenting time.
